State Bank of Texas (SBT) is currently building its new headquarters in Irving, Texas. And today, the successful community bank is also building a brighter future for one Irving ISD student with the donation of a scholarship.
SBT Chief Lending Officer Rajan Patel and his wife Reena attended the 36th Annual Breakfast with the Stars on April 6th at the Irving Convention Center. The annual event is organized by the Irving Schools Foundation, and this year celebrated the academic achievements of the Class of 2023 with hundreds of scholarships from North Texas donors like SBT.
“It is an honor to invest in the future with the donation of this scholarship from State Bank of Texas,” said Rajan Patel of SBT. “Irving is our home, and it was an incredible day seeing our deserving neighbors receive so many scholarships from the Irving Schools Foundation.”
The 2023 Breakfast with the Stars was emceed by WFAA-TV anchor Cynthia Izaguirre. Over 1,000 attendees watched the distribution of 253 student scholarships totaling $538,100. The majority of recipients will be the first in their family to attend college.
“Breakfast with the Stars is about so much more than just the money that the kids receive,” said Crystal Scanio, CEO, Irving Schools Foundation. “It’s a symbol to our kids that we have their back, that the community of Irving loves these kids and we’re here for them.”
The Irving Schools Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1985 that provides financial resources to maximize educational opportunities for teachers and students in Irving ISD by funding innovative programs, scholarships, and activities that enhance creativity, leadership, and academic success.
